Book Review: Never Be Alone by Paige Dearth

Joon is loved by her parents. Then one horrible day they die, and Joon is placed in foster care. Her foster mother beats and abuses her. She spends four years in the foster home and finally runs away. Joon is homeless, living on the street. What will she do to survive? Will she find a place in the world where she is safe?
This is a great eye-opening read for those who have never been exposed to homelessness.  I appreciate that Dearth is honest about what a mess the system is. It is a miracle that Joon makes it out alive. This is hard to read at times and certainly not for the faint of heart. There are valuable lessons here.

*Thank you to NetGalley, Paige Dearth and the publisher for allowing me to read a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
