Book Review: The Road to Bittersweet by Donna Everhart

Fourteen year old Wallis lives with her mute sister Laci, her baby brother Seph, and her mom and dad. They live in the 1940s in South Carolina and their life happens in rural Appalachia. When their life is destroyed by a flood, will they find the strength to come back? What will they be willing to do to survive?

I loved this book!! Ms. Everhart paints pictures with her words! I finished this in three days and didn't want the story to end! In fact I would love a sequel. I need to revisit these characters. This would make a great movie!!

*Thank you to NetGalley, Donna Everhart, and the publisher, for allowing me to read an advanced copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
