Review: If I Can't Have You by Gregg Oleson and Rebecca Morris

This book is subtitled Susan Powell, Her Mysterious Disappearance, and the Murder of Her Children. Susan Powell is the mother of two beautiful boys, Charlie and Braden. She disappeared from Washington State several years ago. Her husband Josh, later attacked the children and set them all on fire, himself included. This is such a tragic story. There is no happy ending here. Charlie and Braden are gone. Josh is not here to answer questions. Susan has never been found.

I appreciated that the book contained so much more of the story then what was seen on the news. There were many facts included that I had no idea about. Josh's family life was bizarre and filled with terrible atrocites. Susan was too trusting and just wanted her boys to be happy. I guess the story is so easy to relate to because it could be anyone's story, it could have happened anywhere.

This is a really good book for those interested in True Crime. Those interested in this case will most likely find facts here that the average bystander would not have known. I will continue to hope and pray that Susan is found, and that her family can finally find some peace.

What do you think? Is this a case you followed? Do you think Josh killed Susan? Could Susan still be alive somewhere?
